Why developers, CTOs and recruiters can no longer ignore .NET

Illustration: .NET writ large in a code window, a strategic choice

Java with Spring, Python with Django, JavaScript with Node.js... every stack has its strengths and its fans. .NET was long perceived as an aging platform. Yet today, it's a reference.

Personally, 10 years ago I only did JavaScript (Angular, React, Node). One day I was handed a .NET project, and I discovered an ecosystem that completely changed my view of software development.

For developers

For CTOs

For recruiters

An ecosystem that evolves fast, in the open

The roadmap is public, decisions are discussed with the community, and anyone can contribute. No more stacking dependencies: everything is built in and maintained (authentication, logging, monitoring, caching...).

Over the past few years I've talked with a lot of .NET developers: it's a passionate, technical community that loves to share.

Takeaway: today, choosing .NET is not a default choice. It's a strategic one.
